Accessibility Checks and Audits
When Should You Book an Accessibility Quick Check or Audit?
You want to assess your accessibility according to the European standard for digital accessibility (EN 301 549), the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), or the German BITV law. This can be done in a
- quick check of the accessibility of your design, concept or existing product to know where you stand currently
- final audit of the accessibility of your product along with a declaration of accessibility
How I can help you with Accessibility Checks and Audits
I offer accessibility quick checks, which usually yield a general overview of the areas of accessibility that need to be addressed. These issues are presented along with general advice on how to fix them. The presentation form is usually a presentation slide deck, a collaboration board, a ticket system, or a written document, presented to you in a handover meeting.
An audit, on the other hand, is an assessment that goes into detail with a selected sample of pages/screens. The result is usually a comprehensive list of issues in spreadsheet form, with references to criteria and explanations. Furthermore, the status of your accessibility can be summarized in a written accessibility statement.
